Born and raised in Bayonne, Kristie moved to Jackson about two decades ago, according to her obituary.
Kristie was a selfless, caring, and generous woman who brought love and joy into countless peoples’ lives.
Above all, she was remembered as a devoted mother to her two children, Breanna and Cassandra Peterson, her memorial says.
In addition to her children, Kristie is survived by her loving father, Thomas Scala; maternal grandmother, Eleanor Mielniczuk; brothers, Bryan and Charles Scala; sister, Erika Scala, and many friends and extended family members. She is predeceased by her mother, Denise (Mielniczuk) Scala.
Kristie’s visitation was held at Timothy E. Ryan Home For Funeral Services on Friday, Oct. 28 with a mass of Christian burial at St. Aloysius RC Church on Saturday, Oct. 29.
